Friday Finishes #25: Welcome Home
As we are all very well aware, I am a big fan of mini kits. My favorite mini kits are the ones that have a lot of detail in a few small amount of space. Today’s Friday Finishes is one of those detailed mini kits!
Name of Piece: WM45690 Home
Designed by: There is no designer listed.
Distributed as a kit by Plaid Bucilla.
Kit Contains: Frame, 14 ct. Aida cloth (100% cotton), floss, needle, instructions, and chart.
Finished Size: 2.5 in x 2.5 in.
The Story: At this point I’ve forgotten where I got this mini kit from. It was definitely at one of the craft stores. I like landscape pieces, like houses and such, but ordinarily the best landscape pieces are enormous and way beyond my stitching limits. So to find a mini kit of a house with a large amount of detail in a small amount of space, I was so excited to stitch this.
Time To Complete: A few hours over several days, which is the norm when I stitch.
Review: Most of the Bucilla kits I find are mini kits, and their mini kits are always very high quality. Their instructions can be a little difficult to read as they’re printed in three languages, so I had to navigate around to find English. But the instructions were very thorough and easy to follow. They even include instructions on how to wash and iron your piece. I thought that was nice, most kits give you framing instructions and that’s it.
I will say from the cover model on this piece that it gives you the impression that there will be a lot more room in the frame for the stitching… there’s not. The stitching sits right against the frame and I had to be careful to make sure none of the stitches were actually under the frame when I went to frame it. Still, that was the only fault with the piece!
Final Verdict: I would definitely highly recommend this mini kit. So much fun to do! And such detail for only 2.5 inches! I really like the quality of Bucilla kits!
Have you done this kit before? How did it go for you? How did you like it, or not like it, as the case may be? Leave a comment below or head on over to our Facebook page and tell us how it went!

Friday Finishes is a segment where I catalog and review all the cross-stitch pieces I have ever completed. Some of the pieces I no longer have information on, or I don’t have pictures because I gave away the piece as a gift and forgot to take a picture, but I’ll do my best to be as informative as possible! Check back on Fridays for more.
By the way – to keep up on Little Thread Crafts stitching news and get pictures, updates, and more that don’t appear on the blog until much later, follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! I would greatly appreciate it!
