Progress Report: Home Is Where Your Mom Is, Part 1

Progress Report: Home Is Where Your Mom Is

Today’s Progress Report is a Christmas gift I started to stitch for my mom! I made a valiant effort to get this done before Christmas. I didn’t quite make it… but I made huge progress on it! Now it’ll be a gift for whenever I manage to get it done.

So I started this piece with the heart in the center:

Progress Report: Home Sweet Home Code

Today’s Progress Report is a project based on CSS coding that I bought on Etsy! My boyfriend studied Computer Science in college. When I saw this chart I had to get it to stitch it for him. A cool variation of the usual Home Sweet Home saying written in code was right up our alley!

The chart is called Home Sweet Home in CSS by Happy Stitch Net. You can get the chart for yourself here: Home Sweet Home in CSS.

Progress Report: Tractor By Janlynn, Start To Finish

Progress Report: Tractor By Janlynn

Today’s Progress Report is something different from my normal projects. I wanted to find a piece more masculine to be able to give my step father for Christmas. I went through my mini kits and found this piece by Janlynn of a tractor I thought he would like. And it turned out to be a fast, simple stitch. It turned out great!

Progress Report: Rock The ‘Stache

Today’s Progress Report is yet another cross stitch piece I made for Christmas. It’s one of many mini kits from Bucilla I call Rock The ‘Stache, and the pattern is one I adore! I found it cute but also covered a gift idea for one of the men in my life. That can be a rare thing with cross stitch pieces for some reason! The fact it was a mini kit was an added bonus.

Progress Report: Mothers Are Special (Take Two!)

Today’s Progress Report is one of my first repeats! I originally did this mini kit a few years ago for my mother-in-law. You can read it here: Friday Finishes #18: Mothers Are Special

Well, I wanted to do this kit for my own mother too. I bought the kit again and decided to stitch it as a Christmas gift for my mother a few years ago! And this time, I actually took pictures while I stitched!

Progress Report: Owl By Janlynn, Start to Finish

Progress Report: Owl By Janlynn

Today’s Progress Report is a very popular Owl By Janlynn motif Janlynn puts out a lot. This little owl has several different kits based on variants of its design, including pillowcases, a 5×7 size kit, and a mini kit, just to name a few! The mini kit version is what our Progress Report today is about.

I picked up this mini kit to make for my sister, who is a big fan of owls. Because it was a nice quick stitch, I made it up as a Christmas present for her. I tried to stitch presents for everyone that year, so I don’t think it took me long at all. Maybe two weeks max of an hour or two of stitching at a time!

Progress Report: Push Button Get Bacon, Start To Finish

Progress Report: Push Button Get Bacon

Today’s Progress Report is a project I charted all by myself! I saw someone post a finished piece based on this image in one of my cross-stitch Facebook groups. I loved the piece and thought it was hilarious, so I asked the person who posted it where they got the chart. Well, when they told me where they got it and I went to look for it, the site was gone and the original chart no longer existed.

But I wanted to stitch it! So, I decided to make myself a chart! I took the original image, stuck it into a picture-to-chart cross-stitch converter, and made some adjustments to the lettering. Then I printed out what the chart converter gave me and started stitching!

Progress Report: I Luvdisc You, Start to Finish

Progress Report: I Luvdisc You

Today’s Progress Report is one very close to my heart: a Pokemon cross stitch! A romantic Pokemon cross stitch, at that! While I love Pokemon, this was only my second time stitching a Pokemon-related piece. You can read about the first piece here: Friday Finishes #9: Wooper Love. This piece was also stitched for my boyfriend. I started it as a birthday gift but ended up finishing just in time for Christmas!

The chart is I Luvdisc You designed by Birdie Stitching. (I made some alterations to the lettering to fit my piece.) You can get the chart yourself here: Pokemon – I Luvdisc You.

If you can, go and give Birdie Stitching some love; she is an awesome designer of video game and pixel art-related charts and all of her charts are FREE.

Progress Report: Wooden Owl Necklace, Start to Finish

Progress Report: Owl Necklace

It has been ages since I’ve done a Progress Report! And boy do I have a lot of progress I need to catch up on. Today’s Progress Report is an owl necklace that I made for my sister’s birthday last year. It ticked all the boxes. Owls are one of her favorite animals, and this was my first venture into the growing cross-stitch jewelry market. I was excited to work on it!

This kit is Small Square Owl Cross Stitch Necklace by Dimensions, and I bought it from Hobby Lobby a few weeks before I stitched the piece.

Native Wolf Dream Catcher: Part 1

———————————————

Oh man, it’s been quite a while since I did an update on my Native Wolf Dream Catcher piece! (Is it Dream Catcher or Dreamcatcher? Wikipedia tells me it can be either way, but my spellcheck gets upset when it’s all one word. I prefer it with a space anyway.)

After all the stitching I did initially on the piece in an attempt to get it done as fast as possible, I put it aside (as I do with all my pieces eventually) and have barely picked it up since. This is all the progress I’ve made in the last two years or so! Maybe posting my progress will get me in the mood to stitch on it again and I’ll finally finished it.

So here is where we left off last time:
